Nominations Open for the 2023 Desautels Research Fund in Private Enterprise, History and Law – $1,000 Prize

The Marcel A. Desautels Center for Private Enterprise and the Law is offering support for a research project on private enterprise, law, and history through the CBHA/ACHA. Applicants are encouraged to be creative in developing proposals for their project and the scholarly article that takes a historical perspective on a controlled Canadian family business or other private enterprise, and examines its intersections or relationship with the law. The field of study is open to any period, but the projects must relate to companies operating in a Canadian national context.

The successful candidate will receive up to $1,000 to support the realization of their project. Academic support and oversight will be provided by a Scientific Advisory Board comprised of CBHA/ACHA members. The research fellowship is open to PhD students and postgraduate researchers at the start of their academic career (within five years of graduation).

The deadline for applications for the Desautels Research Fellowship is February 28, 2023. Applicants should include a cover letter, detailed project proposal and curriculum vitae to be sent to the CBHA/ACHA Grants Committee, c/o Professor Dimitry Anastakis, University of Toronto, Department of History and Rotman School of Management, 100 St. George St. Toronto, ON, M5S 3G3.
